Kasoa Police Apprehend Notorious Landguard And His Father For Threatening a Mason With a Gun

The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested 50-year-old notorious landguard Kwame Borga and his father, Alhaji Sariki, for pulling a gun on a mason, Eric Affum, 33, while he was working on a businessman’s land at Awutu Kwao Bondzi in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
In an interview, the mason, Eric Affum, recounted the frightening experience. He explained that the suspects ambushed him while he was carrying out his usual duties as a mason on the land. Affum stated that the landguards arrived with excavators and graders to grade the land. When he attempted to confront them, they threatened him with a pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, warning him that they would shoot him seven times if he resisted. Although Affum complied and vacated the land as instructed, the suspects did not let him off easily, and he was subjected to some physical abuse.
Following the incident, Affum reported the matter to the Kasoa Police Divisional Command, which led to the swift arrest of the two suspects. During the arrest, police retrieved three firearms from Kwame Borga—one was found in his pocket, and two more were discovered in his residence when the police led him to his house.
Supi Amadu, the Chief of Gomoa Yamoah, has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to assist in prosecuting the notorious landguards, emphasizing the urgent need to address the growing menace of landguard activities in Kasoa. The two suspects are currently in custody at the Kasoa Divisional Police Command awaiting further investigation.
