Joseph Esso’s brilliant header guided Dreams FC to a narrow 1-0 win over Bechem United at the Tuba Astro Turf on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in a match that was as intense as it was hard-fought.

The game began with Dreams FC applying early pressure, and in the 15th minute, they were rewarded with a superb strike from their captain. Kofi Marshah delivered a precise free-kick into the box, where Esso rose majestically to meet the ball with a gliding header, directing it to the near post past Bechem United goalkeeper Haruna Aziz Dari. The goal was a moment of quality, one that put Dreams FC ahead and set the tone for the remainder of the match.

Bechem United tried to respond but found themselves under constant pressure. In the 34th minute, Marshah had a chance to double the lead with a powerful volley from distance. Dari, however, was up to the task, diving to tip the ball over the bar and keep Bechem United in the game.

As the match progressed, Bechem United grew more frustrated with their inability to break down Dreams FC’s defense, leading them to resort to increasingly aggressive tactics. The referee, Nathan Anafo, had to intervene regularly, issuing yellow cards to maintain control of the match and keep tempers in check.

After the break, Bechem United came out with renewed energy, seeking to find a way back into the match. However, Dreams FC’s defense, led by their experienced players, stood firm under the pressure. Esso, who had received a blow to the head earlier in the game, was seen playing with a bandage around his head, still determined to help his side hold on to their slim lead.

Bechem United’s best chance of equalizing came in the 55th minute when Dreams FC goalkeeper Gidios Aseako made a crucial point-blank save to deny Darlvin Yeboah. Dreams FC almost found the back of the net again on the hour mark, but Abdul Razak Salifu’s shot, which struck the upright, was expertly saved by Dari, who kept his team in the game.

Despite Bechem United’s attempts to turn the game in their favor, Dreams FC held on to their lead, with Esso’s early goal proving to be the match winner in a game full of drama and close calls.
