EY Ghana Renews Pledge to Back Local Businesses

EY Ghana has launched its 25th anniversary celebrations, marking a quarter-century of excellence in professional services while reaffirming its commitment to helping businesses in Ghana thrive through innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation.
At the official launch event held at its head office in Cantonments, Accra, senior executives, regulators, business partners, current staff, alumni, and other stakeholders gathered to reflect on the firm’s legacy and chart a course for its future. The milestone celebration highlighted EY Ghana’s growing role in shaping the business landscape, particularly through the adoption of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and a strong focus on sector-specific expertise.
Country Managing Partner Emmanuel Adekahlor used the occasion to emphasize EY Ghana’s readiness to support businesses facing new economic and technological challenges. According to him, companies that fail to adapt to emerging digital trends and sustainability standards are at risk of being left behind.
“We’ve built significant capacity within our firm and across our global network to assist businesses in their transformation journey. The foundation has been laid, and we are now poised to accelerate,” Adekahlor said. “In the next 25 years, we intend to move at a faster pace, leveraging the experience and groundwork of the past to deliver even more impact.”
A Legacy of Professional Service
Established 25 years ago, EY Ghana has grown into a trusted advisor for organizations in both the public and private sectors. The firm offers services across four core areas: assurance, tax, consulting, and strategy. These offerings, combined with deep industry knowledge, have enabled EY to support clients in identifying opportunities, managing risks, and achieving sustainable growth.
The launch event was not only a celebration but also a time for reflection. Former staff and key stakeholders shared stories of EY Ghana’s early years, highlighting its resilience through economic shifts and regulatory changes. The firm has worked closely with key national institutions such as the Bank of Ghana and the Securities and Exchange Commission, helping to improve governance and compliance standards across the country.
Driving Innovation and Impact
Mr. Adekahlor praised EY Ghana’s multidisciplinary teams for their dedication and innovation over the years. He pointed out that the tax advisory team has been instrumental in helping businesses navigate complex regulatory environments, while the assurance team has contributed to building trust and transparency in Ghana’s financial markets through independent, high-quality audits.
The consulting division, he noted, has guided organizations in redefining business models, boosting operational efficiency, and embracing digital tools to remain competitive.
EY Ghana has also extended its impact beyond the boardroom. Through its flagship corporate social responsibility programme, EY Reports, the firm has supported over 1,000 young people with scholarships, mentorship, and community outreach initiatives. This commitment to social impact is central to EY’s vision for inclusive and sustainable development.
Looking to the Future
As EY Ghana steps into its next phase, Adekahlor called for deeper collaboration with stakeholders across sectors to address the evolving needs of businesses and society. He urged companies to adopt bold thinking and embrace innovation as key strategies for navigating future challenges.
“This anniversary is not just a celebration of our past but a springboard for the future. Our goal is to continue being a catalyst for growth—for our clients, our communities, and the country,” he stated.
Business leader and guest speaker Ismael Yamson echoed these sentiments, encouraging EY staff to reflect on their personal contributions to the firm’s journey and to remain committed to its values of integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
As part of the anniversary festivities, EY Ghana has outlined a series of activities including seminars, the launch of a commemorative memoir, and thanksgiving services. These events aim to celebrate the firm’s legacy while inspiring the next generation of professionals and business leaders.
With a renewed sense of purpose and a clear vision for the future, EY Ghana is poised to play an even greater role in supporting business resilience, innovation, and sustainable development in Ghana and beyond.
