Nottingham Forest Secures Signing of Black Queens Striker Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah

Ghanaian international and Black Queens striker Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has signed a two-year contract with Nottingham Forest Women, joining the English Women’s Super League (WSL) side ahead of the new season.
The move comes after a standout campaign with London City Lionesses, where Boye-Hlorkah played a central role in the club’s promotion to the top tier of English women’s football. The 29-year-old scored six goals during the 2024/25 season, including a decisive header in the title-deciding clash against Birmingham City on the final day, helping her side clinch the WSL2 championship.
Announcing her arrival, Nottingham Forest expressed their excitement at adding the experienced forward to their squad.
“We are delighted to confirm the signing of Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah on a two-year deal. Chantelle joins from London City Lionesses after an impressive season in which she was instrumental in their promotion to the Women’s Super League,” the club stated in an official release.
Boye-Hlorkah, who recently represented Ghana at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, spoke of her excitement following the transfer.
“I’m really happy to join this fantastic club,” she said in her first interview with the club’s media team. “The team had a brilliant season last year, and it’s clear that something special is happening here. I’m excited to contribute to the journey and continue building on that success.”
Head coach Carly Davies, who previously worked with Boye-Hlorkah, believes her experience and versatility will add real value to the squad as they prepare for their WSL campaign.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring Chantelle to Nottingham Forest. Having worked with her in the past, I know the quality she brings—on and off the pitch. She has played at the highest levels of the game with clubs like Everton and Aston Villa, and her experience with the reigning WSL2 champions speaks volumes.”
“Chantelle’s ability to influence games in different ways, whether it’s her attacking movement, her pressing off the ball, or her leadership, will be a major asset for us as we take on new challenges this season,” Davies added.
Known for her powerful runs, aerial ability, and technical skill, Boye-Hlorkah brings a wealth of experience to the Forest squad. Her addition is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options as they aim to make a strong impression in the WSL.
Beyond her club success, Boye-Hlorkah has been a rising figure in Ghana’s national team setup, and her performance in the recent Women’s AFCON earned praise for her leadership and composure on the international stage.
With her move to Nottingham Forest, she joins a growing list of Ghanaian players making waves in Europe’s top women’s leagues, and her signing signals the club’s ambition to strengthen its squad with proven talent ahead of the new season.
