Archbishop Adonteng Boateng Urges Mahama to Provide Strategic Leadership

Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng, a respected Ghanaian-American religious leader and General Overseer of Divine Word International Ministries, has publicly congratulated President-elect John Mahama following his electoral victory. Speaking during a sermon in the United States, Archbishop Boateng emphasized the critical importance of strategic leadership in shaping the future of Ghana. He urged the incoming administration to focus on key areas such as investment, infrastructure, and anti-corruption reforms to propel the country toward lasting transformation.

The Archbishop highlighted the immense potential Ghana has in attracting private investment, noting that with a well-structured and transparent system, the country could become an even more attractive destination for investors, offering returns that surpass those available in other global markets. He shared a striking example of a Nigerian who had chosen Ghana over major cities like London and Berlin as a preferred destination, emphasizing the growing recognition of Ghana as a land of opportunity and stability in the region.

Archbishop Boateng stressed that infrastructure, particularly the country’s road networks, should be prioritized. He explained that improving roads would significantly enhance connectivity within Ghana, fostering smoother commerce and facilitating greater business activity. The Archbishop made it clear that investments in infrastructure are foundational to creating a thriving economy. He also pointed out that efforts to address corruption are equally crucial. By instituting anti-corruption laws and holding perpetrators accountable, Ghana can build a transparent system that attracts both local and international investors. “If we can create a transparent system free of fraud and corruption, Ghana will emerge as a leading destination for global investment. The potential is already there; it only needs to be harnessed through good governance,” Archbishop Boateng stated.

In his message, the Archbishop extended his prayers for President-elect Mahama and encouraged him to surround himself with trustworthy and competent advisors who will guide him in making decisions that promote justice, fairness, and equality for all Ghanaians. The Archbishop stressed the importance of good governance and expressed confidence that with the right leadership, Ghana could unlock its full potential.

The Archbishop also took time to commend Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his exemplary leadership during the election period. He praised Dr. Bawumia’s statesmanship, particularly his decision to concede defeat even before the official announcement from the Electoral Commission. Archbishop Boateng described this act as a rare and selfless demonstration of patriotism, one that reflects a deep love for the country and a strong commitment to the democratic process. “This selfless act by Vice President Bawumia demonstrates his love for Ghana and his commitment to democracy. It is a quality we must celebrate,” Archbishop Boateng noted.

In addition to discussing governance and leadership, Archbishop Boateng reflected on the deeper symbolic meaning of the black star on Ghana’s flag. He explained that the black star represents Ghana’s destiny to serve as a beacon of hope for the African diaspora, offering a spiritual and cultural homeland for black people worldwide. “The black star is a prophetic symbol of Ghana’s destiny to lead and inspire black people around the globe. Ghana is seen as a peaceful and welcoming home by many, and this identity is something we must embrace and nurture,” Archbishop Boateng said. He emphasized that the country’s identity and values should be cherished and upheld as they continue to inspire Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora.

In his closing remarks, Archbishop Boateng encouraged both his congregation and the broader international community to consider Ghana as a prime destination for investment. He expressed optimism that with the right leadership, reforms, and focus on development, Ghana can truly realize its potential. He highlighted the need for strategic investments in infrastructure and the eradication of corruption, which he believes will elevate the country to new heights.
