Arsenal’s Appeal Leads to Overturn of Lewis-Skelly Ban

Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has had his three-match ban lifted after the club successfully appealed the decision. The 18-year-old was initially shown a straight red card for a foul on Matt Doherty during Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Wolves on Saturday. Referee Michael Oliver deemed the tackle to be serious foul play, and the decision was upheld by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) at the time.
However, after appealing the dismissal, Arsenal’s challenge was accepted by an independent regulatory commission. The Football Association confirmed that the ban had been overturned, clearing Lewis-Skelly to continue playing. The foul occurred as Doherty was preparing to counter-attack just outside the Wolves penalty box, leading to the initial decision. With the ban now reversed, the young defender will be available for Arsenal’s upcoming matches.
