Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has expressed the club’s strong desire to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.

After a challenging start to the season, the Porcupine Warriors have bounced back with impressive form, going seven games unbeaten. As a result, Kotoko finished the first round of the season in third place, earning 31 points.

Opoku, who has scored five goals in just four appearances this season, shared his optimism about the team’s prospects of claiming the title. In an interview with Asempa FM, he made it clear that their goal is to secure the league championship by the end of the season.

“Every big club aims to win the Premier League title, and that is our goal,” Opoku stated. “We want to win the Premier League at the end of the season, and that is our target.”

Despite the tough start, Kotoko’s recent form has shown that they are more than capable of competing for the top spot in the league. With their focus on the ultimate prize, the team is determined to continue their strong performances in the second half of the season.

Asante Kotoko’s next challenge will come in their first match of the second round, where they will host Karela United at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, January 28, in a crucial Matchday 18 encounter. Karela United are currently battling relegation, which will make the fixture even more intense for both sides.

With their eyes firmly set on the title, Kotoko’s players, including Opoku, are fully committed to maintaining their unbeaten run and pushing for the top of the table. As the season progresses, the team will continue to focus on their goal of winning the Ghana Premier League and adding another trophy to their storied history.
