Antoine Semenyo has voiced his belief that Bournemouth have earned the right to compete for European football next season following their hard-fought win that saw them rise to eighth in the Premier League standings.

The Ghanaian forward made an immediate impact, finding the net just 53 seconds into the match with what turned out to be the only goal of the game — his eighth in the league this campaign. His quickfire strike proved decisive, securing three crucial points for the Cherries.

Speaking after the match, Semenyo expressed pride in the team’s overall performance this season.

“Based on everything we’ve achieved this year, I truly believe we deserve to be in the conversation for European qualification,” he told Sky Sports. “We’ve gone toe-to-toe with the best teams and come out on top more than once.”

The 24-year-old acknowledged the club’s recent dip in form but emphasized that it’s something every side goes through at some point in the season.

“Every team hits a rough patch — we’ve had ours with a few losses and draws — but that’s why getting this win was so important,” he said. “It shows our resilience and our desire to push on.”

Semenyo highlighted the emotion in the dressing room and among the fans, pointing to the celebrations as proof of how much the victory meant to the squad.

“It’s been a tough few weeks for everyone at the club. Today, we wanted to leave it all on the pitch, and I think we did just that,” he added. “You could see how much it meant to us all at the final whistle.”

With momentum back on their side, Bournemouth’s European hopes remain alive — and Semenyo is confident they can finish strong.
