Election Day Press Briefing

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that it will be holding regular media briefings throughout Election Day on December 7, 2024, to provide the public with up-to-date information on the progress of the elections. These briefings aim to ensure transparency and keep the media and the general public informed about the election process.
The first media briefing will be held at 9:00 am, followed by additional briefings at 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 6:00 pm. Starting from 9:00 pm, the EC will continue providing updates as election results are received from various regions across the country. Each media briefing will last no longer than 30 minutes.
Accredited media personnel with access to the National Collation Centre are invited to cover these briefings. The EC also emphasized the importance of verifying all election-related reports and stories with the Commission to avoid the spread of false or unverified information. In the briefings, the EC will also address any emerging reports from around the country.
The Commission has urged both the media and the public to rely on official updates from the EC, underscoring its commitment to delivering fair, transparent, and credible elections. The EC is dedicated to ensuring a peaceful election day and working closely with the media to provide accurate and timely information to the citizens of Ghana.
As the country prepares for the elections, the regular briefings will play a critical role in keeping the electorate informed and ensuring that any issues or developments are addressed promptly. The Electoral Commission looks forward to working with the media to ensure that the election process remains open and accessible to all.
