The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured both the public and all stakeholders that the final results of the 2024 elections will be determined by the pink sheets, which are signed by party agents at each of the 40,650 polling stations across the country. The Commission urged the public to remain patient as it continues to compile and collate the results.
At a media briefing held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at the National Collation Centre, Benjamin Bano-Bio, the Director of Electoral Services, explained that after polling stations closed, the ballots were counted in the presence of party agents, the media, observers, and the public. These results were then recorded on the pink sheets.
The pink sheets, which are signed by both the presiding officer and party agents, are considered the official records of the vote count. A copy of the pink sheet is given to all party agents and another is posted at the polling station for public viewing.
Bano-Bio reassured the public that these signed pink sheets from all 40,650 polling stations are the final and official results of the election. “Nothing will change,” he emphasized, reiterating that the pink sheets, verified and signed by both presiding officers and party agents, are the definitive source for determining the election outcome.
This statement from the EC reaffirms the transparency and integrity of the election process, assuring Ghanaians that the pink sheets will serve as the reliable foundation for the final results.
