Ghana’s Thomas Partey Observes as Arsenal Lose to PSG in His Absence

Thomas Partey could only watch from the sidelines as Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss to PSG in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian midfielder was sidelined due to a suspension after picking up an unnecessary yellow card in the second leg of Arsenal’s quarter-final against Real Madrid. His absence was immediately felt, as the team struggled without his presence in midfield.
Arsenal had difficulty asserting themselves early in the game, and they were punished within the first few minutes. Ousmane Dembele capitalized on a low cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, giving PSG the lead just four minutes in.
PSG controlled much of the early action, with Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya making a key save to deny the young Desire Doue. As the match progressed, Arsenal gradually found some rhythm, but despite efforts from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, they were unable to beat PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, who made vital saves to keep his team ahead.
Partey, visibly frustrated by not being able to help his team on the field, watched the game from the players’ lounge. After the final whistle, he made his way to the pitch to console his teammates, showing his support despite the disappointing result.
