Ho Central MP Inaugurates New E-Library

Benjamin Komla Kpodo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art e-library and newly renovated classroom blocks at the Nuriya Islamic School. During the inauguration ceremony, Kpodo expressed his commitment to improving education in his constituency and emphasized the role of the newly established facility in bridging the digital gap in the community.
The newly refurbished school facility includes 20 computers and is designed to serve both students and teachers. This move is part of Kpodo’s vision of modernizing education and making learning resources more accessible, especially to those in rural areas. In his address, the MP explained that the introduction of the e-library is a significant step toward preparing students and teachers for the future, where technology plays a central role in acquiring knowledge. “No one today gets information only from books. With this facility, students and teachers can access global resources online and enhance their studies. This is about preparing our youth for the future,” he remarked.
Kpodo acknowledged that integrating technology into the education system could be challenging, especially in a community where digital tools may be less accessible. He stressed that the new e-library not only benefits students but also provides teachers with the tools they need to enhance their teaching practices and enrich the learning experience. “Even those of us born before computers must learn to adapt,” he stated. “Proper usage and maintenance of these facilities are critical for their longevity and effectiveness.” His comments highlighted the importance of developing both technological proficiency and the necessary support systems for continued use of the new resources.
The MP also expressed hope that the e-library would continue to serve the community even after his time in office. He encouraged future leaders to prioritize education and uphold the ongoing efforts to improve facilities and resources for learning. “This is a gift to the community, and I hope it will continue to benefit the people long after I leave office,” he said.
The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Esther Adzo Adzimah-Yeboah, was present at the ceremony and praised the initiative. She described the e-library as an essential tool in advancing the education sector in the region. According to her, the impact of this digital facility will extend beyond Nuriya Islamic School and influence the broader educational landscape in Ho Central. “Technology rules the world now, and this facility ensures that our learners are not left behind,” she stated. “Unlike in the past, where accessing information was cumbersome, this e-library provides an opportunity for seamless learning. This marks a great leap forward for us.”
Dr. Adzimah-Yeboah also stressed the importance of embracing technology in education and urged both teachers and students to take full advantage of the e-library. She highlighted that the facility would help expand learning opportunities by providing access to a wide range of online resources, research materials, and educational tools that were previously difficult to obtain. “With access to technology, our learners can explore various search engines and resources that will greatly enhance their education. This inauguration marks a significant milestone, and we are deeply grateful to Honorable Benjamin Kpodo and all those who supported this initiative,” she added.
The inauguration of the e-library and the renovation of classroom blocks are part of a broader initiative by Kpodo to improve educational facilities in the Ho Central constituency. Over the years, the MP has prioritized infrastructure development as a key aspect of his tenure, seeking to enhance both the physical and technological resources available to students in the region.
The e-library will provide students with the tools they need to excel in their studies, offering them access to digital textbooks, research materials, and online courses that will supplement traditional classroom learning. By bringing this technology into the community, Kpodo hopes to empower the younger generation to compete on a global scale. “This is just one step in a longer journey to ensure that our youth are equipped for the future,” Kpodo concluded, expressing optimism about the impact of this new facility on both students and teachers alike.
With this initiative, Kpodo has reinforced his commitment to educational progress, ensuring that students in Ho Central are prepared for the demands of the modern world.
