Vincent Ekow Assafuah, a member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, has disclosed that the committee is yet to receive the full budget for the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifying fixtures against Chad and Madagascar.

Assafuah explained that, although some financial details have been shared, including the salaries of the coaching staff and players, the complete budget for the upcoming games remains undisclosed to the committee.

Speaking during an interview on Metro TV, Assafuah commented:

“As of now, we are not fully informed about the entire budget for the Black Stars. The only information provided to us pertains to the salaries of the coaches and staff, including the assistant coaches and team managers. While this breakdown has been made available, the full financial plan for the matches has not yet been presented to us.”

This lack of transparency regarding the overall budget for the World Cup qualifiers has raised concerns, particularly about the allocation of funds for the team’s preparation, travel, and other related expenses. The committee’s request for the complete budget appears to remain unfulfilled, leaving them with only partial details regarding the financial arrangements for the Black Stars’ qualifying campaign.

This situation highlights the ongoing challenges in securing complete and transparent financial oversight, especially when it comes to national sports expenditures. As the World Cup qualifiers approach, many are hoping that the full budget details will soon be shared with the committee to ensure accountability and proper planning for the upcoming fixtures.
