However, one night, as he was on his way to the nightclub, something extraordinary happened that would change his life forever. He was in a taxi, headed to his usual hangout, when the driver put on a gospel song. Pastor Amoateng described how he felt an emotional stir that was so strong and unusual that it moved him deeply. As he listened to the song, he began to feel a shift in his mood, a change that affected him so profoundly that by the time he arrived at the club, he no longer felt the same.

At first, he tried to ignore the strange feeling, still wanting to go into the club to please his friends. However, as soon as he entered the venue, he found himself unable to engage in the same way he had before. Typically, he would take control of the dance floor, being the energetic and popular “Chingy” that everyone knew. But that night, something was different. He couldn’t bring himself to dance. His usual excitement for the nightlife had completely evaporated, and an inner voice told him that it was time to go home. Instead of staying until the usual late hours, around 5 a.m., he left the club earlier, around 2:30 or 3 a.m. — a drastic change from his regular routine.

Once back at his hostel, Pastor Amoateng found himself overwhelmed with emotion. He cried, realizing that something precious was missing from his life—his connection to Jesus Christ. The experience left him with a deep sense of loss and regret, but it also served as a turning point. In that moment of vulnerability, he made a powerful decision that would alter the course of his life: he vowed to leave behind his clubbing lifestyle and fully dedicate himself to the ministry.
