Support Traditional And Herbal Medicine To Reduced Unemployment, THAG To Government

Traditional Herbalist Association Ghana(THAG) has called on the government to invest more in the Association to help reduce unemployment in the country.
To them, traditional and herbal medicine needs research centres and manufacturing entities for the practitioners who can not afford to build their own facilities to produce better medicine to support support the economy to reduce some of the burden on the government.
Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebrations, National President of THAG, Mr B.K. Asare hinted that the government paying more attention to traditional and herbal medicine will increase the rate of government economy stability and will also reduce expenditure on importation of drugs.
He is of the opinion that it is time for Ghana to emulate from China and India because it is the surest way liberate the country from any malicious diseases which was not known to Ghanaians some four decades ago.
Dr. Selorm Kutsoati, the Municipal Director of Health for La Nkwantanang, pointed out that her outfit will start monitoring herbal medicine practitioners and see how they can assist them to provide quality service to Ghanaians.
She alluded that the challenges with some of the traditional herbalists has been the medications and the dosage to be prescribed to a patient.
She cautioned the traditional herbalists not to delay in reference case to the orthodox practitioners in a very bad state, knowing very well they can not treat the patient.
She added that there is a policy by the Ministry of Health to incorporate medicine into the noble practice of healthcare delivery in Ghana.
