US President Donald Trump has urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to disclose any “credible” information related to the late Jeffrey Epstein case, amid mounting calls from some of his own supporters for greater transparency. This comes after Bondi’s office recently stated there was no evidence that Epstein maintained a “client list,” a claim that appeared to contradict earlier comments by Bondi and other Trump allies who had pushed for the release of more information.

Trump expressed bewilderment over the ongoing public fascination with the case, describing it as “sordid but boring.” Speaking to reporters, he defended Bondi’s handling of the investigation, saying, “She’s handled it very well, and it’s going to be up to her. Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release.”

When asked if Bondi had informed him whether his name appeared in any Epstein-related documents, Trump replied, “No, no.” He also criticized those who keep the issue alive, blaming “really bad people,” including the “fake news,” for fueling continued interest.

Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death followed a prior conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. Earlier this month, the Department of Justice and FBI released a memo stating that investigators found no “incriminating list” of Epstein’s clients or credible evidence that he blackmailed high-profile individuals. The memo also included video evidence supporting the conclusion that Epstein’s death was a suicide.

Despite these official findings, conspiracy theories persist, suggesting Epstein was murdered to protect powerful figures. Some former FBI officials had questioned the official narrative but ultimately accepted the suicide ruling.

The memo further stated investigators found no basis to open investigations against uncharged third parties. However, many within Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement remain skeptical, believing crucial information has been withheld to protect influential people or intelligence agencies.

Recently, Trump has voiced frustration over the public’s fixation on Epstein and called for the issue to be put to rest. Nevertheless, several Republican lawmakers continue to press for more details.

Bondi faced criticism after comments made in February, when she mentioned reviewing a supposed Epstein client list, though her spokesperson later clarified she was referring to the broader case files.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Trump ally, said he trusts the president but insisted that Bondi “needs to come forward and explain it to everybody,” advocating for full disclosure so “the people decide.”

Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed strong support for transparency, praising Bondi’s efforts but urging officials to keep their promises to voters.

Colorado’s Lauren Boebert suggested appointing a special counsel if additional Epstein documents are not released.

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy emphasized the public’s right to know “who Epstein trafficked those women to and why they weren’t prosecuted.”

On the other hand, some prominent Republicans, including Senator John Thune and Congressman Jim Jordan, deferred to Trump’s lead on the matter.

At a recent press conference focused on fentanyl, Bondi declined to comment on Epstein, stating, “Nothing about Epstein. I’m not going to talk about Epstein,” and referred to the DOJ-FBI memo as conclusive, noting that over 300 gigabytes of data had been reviewed.

Meanwhile, House Democrats unsuccessfully tried to force a vote on releasing Epstein files. Republicans pointed out that the Biden administration, which also had access to the documents, chose not to make them public.
