Accra Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, expressed satisfaction with his team’s 3-2 victory over Accra Lions but acknowledged moments of lost concentration, particularly during the second half. In a post-match interview, Ouattara highlighted how his team let their guard down at times but was relieved that these lapses didn’t cost them the game.

The match, played at Sogakope in the Ghana Premier League, saw Hearts of Oak take the lead in the 37th minute with a well-executed header from Mohammed Hussein. However, in the second half, Hearts faced a setback as Accra Lions equalized in the 52nd minute through Lucky Nwafor and took the lead in the 73rd minute courtesy of Blessing Dankwa. Despite these challenges, Hearts of Oak remained resilient.

The turning point came in the final minutes of the game when substitute Mawuli Wayo, who had been brought on during the match, scored two quick goals in the 81st and 84th minutes. These goals secured the win for Hearts, marking their second consecutive victory in the league after their previous win over Berekum Chelsea.

Despite the win, Ouattara admitted that Hearts’ performance wasn’t without its flaws. He pointed out that his players had moments where they lost focus, which allowed Accra Lions to mount a comeback. However, he expressed contentment with the result, as the team managed to regain their composure and secure the three points.

“We lost concentration for a short while, but I’m glad it didn’t affect us negatively. The important thing is we got the three points,” Ouattara remarked after the game. His praise for the team’s resolve was evident, especially as the team fought back to take control in the final stages of the match.

In conclusion, Ouattara emphasized the need for his side to maintain focus for the full 90 minutes in future matches. While pleased with the victory, he reiterated the importance of concentration and discipline as they prepare for upcoming fixtures in the Ghana Premier League.
