24-Hour Economy Policy: Government To Create 1.7 Million Jobs- Dr. Amanor Dodoo

Dr. Ismael Nii Amanor Dodoo, Head of Innovative Finance, Partnership, and Markets, 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Secretariat, has announced
government is targeting the creation of at least 1.7 million jobs through its 24-hour economy policy by the end of this year.
According to Dr. Amanor Dodoo, this initiative seeks to generate individual and collective wealth for Ghanaians, providing sustainable employment opportunities.
Speaking at the Energy News Africa LTD Anniversary Public Lecture in Accra, he emphasized the importance of local industries driving economic growth.
“This policy aims to transform Ghana’s economy by promoting local production, empowering industries, and creating sustainable employment opportunities,”he added.
Dr. Dodoo highlighted the need for Ghanaians to control the country’s economic destiny, citing that three external countries currently control 80% of Ghana’s GDP.

On his part,Michael Creg Afful, Executive Director for Energy News Africa Limited, has alluded that the government of Ghana flagship programe, the 24-hour economy policy, will mainly strive on the energy sector.

The award winning energy reporter urged key players within the energy sector eco-space to ensure that there will be constant supply for the government to deliver on its campaign promise.
According to him, Ghanaians will demand a regular and reliable supply for the country to operate the 24-hour economy, which has been spearheaded by the John Mahama led administration.
