The formation of AMG Record Label was largely driven by Criss Waddle’s dissatisfaction with his previous association with the music group R2Bees. Showboy explained that despite Waddle’s loyalty to the group, he wasn’t being treated fairly, which led to Waddle’s frustration. “His problem was that he had been on the R2Bees team but was not being treated well,” Showboy said. After conducting some of his own research, Showboy confirmed that Waddle had been sidelined in the group. Realizing Waddle’s potential, Showboy suggested they break away from R2Bees and establish their own record label. This led to the creation of AMG, with Showboy taking full financial responsibility for the label’s operations.
Showboy opened up about how he personally funded AMG Record Label, admitting that all the expenses, including the cars and equipment used for the label’s operations, were paid for by him. “I founded and funded the label. The cars and everything was mine,” Showboy revealed. He shared that he worked multiple jobs, including as a security guard and a barrister at a coffee shop, to finance the label and support Criss Waddle’s music career. Showboy focused his efforts on helping Waddle succeed while the artist focused on making music. Despite his substantial financial commitment, Showboy said he felt his contribution was not reciprocated.
The turning point in their relationship came when Showboy accused Waddle of betraying him in a car deal. Showboy claimed that Waddle took a portion of the money from a car sale without informing him, an act that led to their significant fallout. “I got pissed because it was all my money,” Showboy explained. He was hurt by what he saw as a lack of transparency and loyalty from Waddle, especially since he had invested so much into the label and its operations. This incident caused a major rift between the two, and Showboy confessed he still didn’t understand why Waddle took such an action.
Despite the tensions between them, Showboy admitted that Criss Waddle had financially supported him during challenging times. However, he expressed that the support was not balanced, as Waddle did not reciprocate when Showboy was in need. Showboy felt that there was a lack of mutual respect and fairness in their relationship, which contributed to the dissolution of their partnership.
The friendship between Showboy and Criss Waddle, which lasted for over eight years, eventually came to an end due to these unresolved issues. Their collaboration was once seen as a strong partnership, but Showboy’s financial contributions and the car deal controversy created a wedge between the two. While Showboy acknowledged Waddle’s past support, he felt that the betrayal over the car deal and the imbalance in their relationship ultimately led to the collapse of their once successful business venture and friendship.
