Alan Kyerematen Hosts High-Energy Concert to Inspire and Empower the Youth

The Legon City Mall in Accra became the epicenter of energy and youthful enthusiasm as hundreds of young Ghanaians gathered for the highly anticipated Afrafranto All-Star Youth Concert. The event, organized by the Movement for Change and the Afrafranto Alliance under the leadership of Alan Kyerematen and his running mate Kwame Owusu Danso (KOD), brought together music, entertainment, and a powerful message of transformation aimed at the country’s young population.
The star-studded evening was highlighted by spectacular performances from some of Ghana’s most celebrated artists. Medikal, Bisa K’dei, Wendy Shay, Sydney, Jay Bahd, Sista Afia, Tinny, YPee, and many rising talents brought the crowd to their feet, showcasing the rich musical culture of the country. While the concert was a celebration of Ghana’s vibrant youth culture, it also served as a strategic platform for Kyerematen to share his vision for the future of Ghana’s creative industry and the empowerment of its youth.
During an exclusive interview with journalists at the event, Kyerematen unveiled one of the most significant initiatives of his 10-Point Plan for Youth Empowerment — the Creative Arts Development Fund (CADF). This new initiative is designed to offer financial support, mentorship, and technical assistance to young Ghanaian creatives across various sectors, including music, film, theater, and the visual arts.
“The youth are the heartbeat of this nation, and their creativity is one of Ghana’s greatest assets,” Kyerematen said. “The Creative Arts Development Fund will provide young talents with the tools and resources to thrive in an increasingly competitive global industry. This is not just about nurturing creativity; it’s about creating an environment where the creative arts become a key driver of economic growth and job creation for the youth.”
Kyerematen emphasized that the CADF’s core mission is to remove financial barriers and empower young Ghanaian creatives to compete on the global stage. He also highlighted the importance of intellectual property rights, which will help protect the work of young artists, and how the initiative will foster international collaborations. “Our musicians, filmmakers, and artists are some of the best in the world, and with the right kind of support, they can lead Africa’s cultural narrative,” he said. “The Creative Arts Development Fund will unlock that potential.”
The concert’s atmosphere was further charged with energy as Medikal and other performers publicly voiced their support for Kyerematen’s candidacy. Medikal, one of Ghana’s most popular musicians, passionately endorsed Kyerematen, urging the youth to rally behind his vision. “Alan is my president,” Medikal declared on stage. “He is deeply invested in the future of the youth, and he has a concrete plan to help us. We need a leader like him who believes in us and our potential.”
KOD, who also performed at the event, shared a personal and inspiring message with the crowd. Reflecting on his journey from a young artist to becoming the youngest vice-presidential candidate in Ghana’s history, KOD encouraged the youth to dream big and never lose sight of their goals. “This Creative Arts Development Fund will change lives,” KOD said. “It will allow young creatives to focus on their craft without worrying about how to finance their dreams. I know this would have made a huge difference in my own journey as an artist.”
The announcement of the Creative Arts Development Fund was met with enthusiastic support from attendees, many of whom expressed hope that this initiative would pave the way for a brighter future for young Ghanaian creatives. A young musician at the event expressed his gratitude for Kyerematen’s efforts, saying, “This is exactly what we’ve been waiting for. A leader who understands our struggles and is willing to invest in our future. Alan Kyerematen has our full support.”
The Afrafranto All-Star Youth Concert was not only a celebration of the youth and Ghana’s thriving creative industry but also a clear demonstration of how the Movement for Change is positioning itself as a party that truly understands the needs and aspirations of young people.
