Have MA Primary School Receives Books and Stationery as Part of Its Benefits

Over 200 pupils from the Have Fiakpokorpe and Sremanu communities in the Volta Region were the fortunate recipients of more than 3,000 educational materials, stationery, and food items during an event held last Saturday. The generous donation was made by the Career Compass Gh Foundation in partnership with the Nurture-Up Legacy Foundation, EmpowerEdge Hub, and GO Foundation. The materials provided were aimed at supporting the educational needs of the children and improving their overall learning experience.
Among the educational materials distributed were GES-approved History and Religious and Moral Education (RME) textbooks for Basic One to Six, exercise books, mathematical sets, graph books, pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, sanitary pads, shoes, as well as snacks like biscuits and soft drinks. These supplies were carefully selected to address the pressing needs of the pupils and enhance their learning environment, which is often challenged by limited resources.
Dickson Assan, the convener of Career Compass, shared his vision for the donation, stating that it was meant to empower the children and give them the tools they need to succeed. “Education is not just about books or classrooms; it’s about providing opportunities for children from various backgrounds to break barriers and achieve greatness,” Assan said during his address at the event.
He also took the opportunity to reflect on his own upbringing, recounting his childhood in a farming community in the Ahafo Region, where he walked long distances to attend school. Assan used his story as a powerful example of resilience, encouraging the pupils to stay focused on their goals despite any challenges they may face. “With hard work and determination, you can succeed no matter where you come from or what obstacles are in your way,” he encouraged them.
Assan further emphasized the importance of support from both parents and teachers. He urged them to play an active role in their children’s education, underscoring that a strong educational foundation could open doors to numerous opportunities in professions such as law, medicine, and teaching. By helping to shape the children’s futures through education, he stated, they would be able to achieve their dreams and create better lives for themselves and their families.
Expressing his gratitude, Assan thanked all the collaborators and donors involved in making the event possible. This included Dr. Khadija Iddrisu of EmpowerEdge Hub, Dr. Rhoda Afriyie Mensah of Nurture-Up Legacy Foundation, and Seyram Aku Amakpah-Azasu of Volta Ambassador. He also extended his thanks to individuals, including friends from LinkedIn, whose contributions helped make the donation a reality. Assan urged everyone to continue working together to create an environment that fosters growth and learning for the next generation of students.
The Chief of the community, Togbui Fiakpo III, also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the support provided. He assured that the materials would be put to good use and would have a significant impact on the students’ educational journey. “On behalf of the community, I thank you for your generous gesture. We will ensure that these resources are used to help the children reach their full potential,” he said.
Matthew Yaw Nyatuame, the Head Teacher of the school, also took the stage to express his gratitude for the donation. He explained the difficulties the school had been facing due to a lack of proper learning materials, which had hindered the students’ ability to fully engage in their studies. With limited exercise books, pens, and desks, many students struggled to keep up with their lessons. However, he noted that the recent donation would go a long way in addressing these challenges and ensuring that the students had access to the resources they needed to succeed academically.
In conclusion, this act of generosity was not just about providing physical materials, but also about making a positive and lasting impact on the children’s futures. It highlighted the importance of community collaboration and the power of giving back to improve education and offer greater opportunities to children in underserved regions. The event served as a reminder that with the collective effort of individuals, organizations, and community leaders, transformative change can take place in the lives of many.
