Bishop Dr. Charles Frimpong, a Senior Lecturer at the Faith University Seminary in Kumasi, recently urged Christians to boldly proclaim the truth about the birth of Jesus Christ. He stressed that the story is not a mere myth or fable, but a real, historical event with deep spiritual significance. Bishop Frimpong’s call came during his sermon at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, an event organized by the Ashanti Regional Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Kumasi, which celebrated the joy of Christ’s birth. The theme of the event was “Rejoicing in the Wonder of His Birth,” and it featured beautiful performances from the Amammareso Agofomma, the Amammareso Choral Group, the Anokye Players, and the Acting Ashanti Regional Director of CNC. The night also saw two retirees being recognized for their contributions to the CNC’s achievements, with parcels and citations presented to them.

Bishop Frimpong’s sermon, delivered with passion and conviction, centered around the sub-theme “The Visitation of God.” He drew on his own experience of living in Israel for nearly a decade, where he visited many of the places mentioned in the Bible. “I have lived in Israel for about 10 years, and I can tell you from personal experience that the story of Jesus Christ’s birth is real,” he stated confidently. He went on to say that the Bible’s narrative about the birth of Christ is not a fabricated story, but a factual account that Christians should stand behind with pride. His testimony reinforced his belief in the authenticity of the Bible and the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ.

In his sermon, Bishop Frimpong emphasized that the birth of Jesus Christ had been prophesied over 4,000 years before it took place. He explained that Christ’s coming was not merely a historical event but served a divine purpose – to bring humanity closer to God and offer salvation from sin. According to the bishop, the relationship between God and humanity was severed when people sinned and disobeyed God. This fall from grace led to spiritual death, and as a result, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to restore that broken relationship and offer eternal life to those who believe.

Bishop Frimpong delved deeper into the significance of Christ’s birth, explaining that certain sins required the shedding of blood for atonement. This, he explained, was why Jesus Christ came into the world – to atone for humanity’s sins through His death and provide a pathway for eternal life. He spoke about the importance of understanding the true purpose of Christ’s birth, which was not just to bring joy to the world, but to offer a chance for salvation and redemption from the consequences of sin.

The bishop’s call to Christians was clear: they must not shy away from sharing the message of Jesus Christ’s birth and His purpose on earth. He emphasized that Christians should be bold in their faith and unwavering in proclaiming the truth of the Gospel. Bishop Frimpong strongly discouraged Christians from listening to those who deny or question the authenticity of the Bible’s account of Jesus’ birth. “We must not be intimidated or discouraged by those who say the birth of Christ is just a fictional story,” he urged. “We must speak boldly, so that others may hear and believe in the true message of Christ’s coming.”

Bishop Frimpong concluded his sermon by encouraging Christians to embrace the true meaning of Christmas and share the message of Jesus Christ’s birth with others, ensuring that the story of salvation continues to be spread far and wide. By proclaiming the truth of Jesus’ birth and the salvation He brings, Bishop Frimpong believes that many souls will be saved, and humanity will be drawn closer to God. His powerful message served as a reminder to all that the birth of Jesus Christ is a real and transformative event with eternal implications for believers around the world.
