Lawyer Blay Nyameke Armah, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Sekondi, has called for unity and cooperation among his constituents to ensure the city’s sustainable development. Following his election, he urged the people of Sekondi to rise above political divides and work together for the betterment of the community, emphasizing that the time for political rivalries has passed, and the focus should now be on collective progress.

Lawyer Blay made this passionate appeal during his visits to several local churches for the 31st Watch Night Service, where he took the opportunity to express gratitude to God and the people of Sekondi for the trust they have placed in him as their representative in Parliament for the next four years. The churches he visited included Christ Apostolic Church, Presbyterian Church, All Saints Andrews Anglican Church, and Wesley Methodist Church. He acknowledged that political campaigns often create division, but he emphasized that moving forward, it was essential to unite for the common good of the constituency.

While recognizing that the aftermath of elections usually brings about some division, Lawyer Blay stressed that Sekondi is a shared resource and that political differences should not stand in the way of its development. “You have your constituency as your common asset, and you suffer the consequences if you remain divided and fail to develop it,” he remarked, underscoring that the city’s future hinges on the collective action of its people.

In the recent parliamentary elections, Lawyer Blay secured a resounding victory with 14,588 votes, defeating the incumbent MP and Minister for Tourism, Lawyer Andrew Agyapa Mercer. This victory is seen as a turning point for Sekondi, and Lawyer Blay has committed to transforming the city during his tenure. His focus is on addressing longstanding infrastructure issues and creating an environment that fosters growth and progress for all.

One of the immediate changes he has already initiated is the restoration of streetlights on major roads throughout Sekondi, tackling the persistent issue of darkness in several key areas. This initiative reflects his determination to improve the city’s infrastructure and make it safer and more attractive to both residents and visitors. Lawyer Blay has pledged that improving the city’s infrastructure will be a top priority throughout his time in office.

Beyond infrastructure, Lawyer Blay emphasized his commitment to building on the achievements of his predecessor. Rather than discarding ongoing projects, he has promised to continue and expand on the work already done, ensuring that progress continues uninterrupted. His focus is on improving the overall standard of living for the people of Sekondi and driving further development through new initiatives.

“We will work together to ensure Sekondi is well-developed, building upon the work that my predecessor has done so that he won’t regret leaving office,” he said, assuring the people that their city’s growth would be a shared responsibility. Lawyer Blay’s remarks reflect his firm belief in collaboration, stating that only by working together will the people of Sekondi achieve lasting and meaningful progress.

Throughout his message, Lawyer Blay highlighted that the development of Sekondi must be a collective effort. He believes that political affiliation should not be a barrier to development and that Sekondi can only move forward if its citizens come together to push for progress. By emphasizing the importance of unity, he has made it clear that political differences should not overshadow the shared goal of creating a more prosperous and thriving community.

As the newly elected Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Lawyer Blay Nyameke Armah is eager to serve his constituents and make a lasting impact. He is focused on bringing about the transformation Sekondi needs, with a clear vision to address both infrastructure issues and social challenges. His call for unity serves as a reminder that collective action is essential for building a better future for the city and its people.
